TJ - Currie Short Arm & Trac-Bar install.

Unbolt the old lower control arms 1st. in this case banged up mounts made removal fun!

The drivers side was weird - the bolt hits the differential pumpkin - have to remove the rear control arm bolt 1st then twist and pivot to get the bolt out.

Note use of ratchet straps to position axles - these were used extensively to move and rotate the axle.

Measure the center points of the old control arms and set new ones there or longer to get geometry of axle right again.

Lower control arms installed - now start uppers.

Have to drill out the stock upper mount as the Currie hardware is bigger than stock - a good thing.

Currie trac-bar install Currie trac Bar

The trac-bar on a 4 link coil suspended TJ is incredibly important - the stock trac bar is the number one cause of "Death Wobble" - when you have installed 33's or larger tires after about 1 year you've blown out the stock bushings. That "death wobble" is the slop in your trac bar's bushings. The Currie trac bar is bigger, with larger hardware and the length is adjustable so your geometry is restored. The bushings are also rebuildable. You need to drill out the upper mount for the larger hardware. Torque to spec and your Death Wobble's should be gone!
